Who would like more joy and peace today? I sure would! 🙋🏻♀️ I am so sick of the devil. He walks around looking for whom he can devour attempting to steal, kill, and destroy our peace and joy. Yet both are ALWAYS available through the blood of Jesus.
This morning as I was letting the enemy win again by stealing my joy and peace through worry, fear, uncertainty, a need to figure it all out, I finally caught my snap and realized, truly realized, he has lost ALL his authority over me. He’s fighting really hard to make me believe the lie he’s bigger and that I don’t have any authority, but that’s not what my Bible says. My God is bigger and as a child of the Most High God, I have certain benefits because of access to His throne.
Scripture tells us, “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.”
We have the power and AUTHORITY to take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to Jesus. We are not left helpless. All authority in heaven has been imparted into the Believer by the Spirit of God to walk in the authority that Jesus died to give us. He overcame death and the grave so that we can be triumphant, more than conquerors in Christ Jesus, called to be coheirs with Christ to rule and reign for God’s good pleasure.
Scripture tell us we have a choice when waging war to take every thought captive. We can either dwell on the negative or pray about it, thanking God it’s done, then choose to focus on the positive. Whatever we choose to focus on grows. If we focus on the negative, our joy and peace gets robbed. If we focus on the positive, our joy and peace increases. Which do you want?
Today, I’m choosing joy and peace by living out Philippians 4:6-9 knowing God’s got me. And if He tells me not to worry, then I won’t worry. He’s really good at being God and He’s got me.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
