Prophetic Culture

What would it look like if we lived in a prophetic culture? What’s a “prophetic culture” you ask?

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:1, 3 “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy…But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.”

A prophetic culture is one where we recognize the power of our words, that death and life are in the power of the tongue and we choose to speak life to others. We speak encouragement, we speak hope, we speak comfort, and allow our words to strengthen those around us. It’s not done in our own strength, it’s done by a simple prayer of, “God, use me today to speak to those around me.”

Proverbs 12:25 says “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.”

Let’s choose today to use our words to make those around us glad and watch the world change for the better.
