Beloved

Happy Valentine’s Day, Beloved.

My heart is grieved today. As it is a day that celebrates love, I am broken-hearted because most people do not truly know what love is- the great, overwhelming, compelling love of Christ. The enemy has deceived us so greatly. He has lied to us, twisting and distorting love and having us question the love of Love Himself (John 4:8), asking “If God loves you so much, why would He allow __________?” The devil is a liar, a manipulator, and a destroyer. He destroys our families, our self-image, our dreams, our desires, our calling, our everything. He comes ONLY to steal, kill, and destroy and he deceives us into thinking God is the destroyer, God is the thief, God is the reason our life isn’t going the way we think it should. Jesus came to give us life and LIFE ABUNDANTLY. The accuser plays on the fact that we do not truly know, understand, and receive the perfect love of God. Because we do not understand our identity as God’s beloved children.

God is love. He gives us, His beloved children, the option to choose Him, to believe Him, to receive His love and find life. Read Deuteronomy Or we can choose our own way (really the enemy’s way) resulting in doubt, disbelief, uncertainty, and, ultimately, heartache as these choices leads us further way from God.

“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” Deuteronomy 30:15-20 NKJV

God does NOT want heartache for us, but when we choose anything other than Him and His ways, it opens up a door to allow the enemy into our lives to destroy it and Satan hates you. He is actively trying to destroy you, your family, your everything. The enemy’s greatest fear is that we will realize who we are as children of the Most High King (John 1:12, Galatians 3:26), deeply loved and powerful beyond measure because Christ is in us (Ephesians 3:19). If we recognized our true identity, we could destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

God loves you SO MUCH. If we began to understand that great love, bondage would begin to break, our lives would begin to change, our situations would look radically different (1 John 4:18). The love of God overcomes all things. IT NEVER FAILS. It is the most life-altering encounter we can ever experience.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-12 NKJV

Have you truly opened yourself up to encounter and experience the love of God? As you do, you will recognize the power and authority you carry to change the world.
